AAB hosts annual Assembly and year-end meeting
On December 14, 2023, the Albanian Association of Banks (AAB) organized its Annual Assembly of Members and the agenda included the Association’s activities, ongoing issues, and the approval of the 2024 business and financial plans. Notably, amendments to technical committee regulations were also addressed during the meeting.
Following the assembly, AAB organized the traditional year-end reception, attended by members, representatives of commercial banks, and chairpersons of AAB’s technical committees. Distinguished guests included Governor Mr. Gent Sejko, First Deputy Governor Mrs. Luljeta Minxhozi, Second Deputy Governor Mrs. Natasha Ahmetaj, representatives from the Bank of Albania, Mrs. Mimoza Kaçi (General Executive Director of the Financial Supervision Authority), and Mr. Genci Mamani (General Director of the Albanian Deposit Insurance Agency).
During the event, Mr. Bledar Shella, Chairman of AAB and CEO of OTP Bank Albania, expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts within the banking community throughout the year, highlighting the industry’s sustainability and its essential role in supporting economic stability.
Governor Sejko shared a forward-looking perspective on the financial landscape in his speech, discussing key initiatives and strategies for the upcoming year. He encouraged attendees to embrace a positive vision for development, continuing the supportive lending approach, particularly in sectors like tourism and agriculture while ensuring prudent and stable growth in banking activities.
The evening served not only as a platform for industry leaders to share their insights but also as an opportunity to strengthen connections among attendees. As the banking community embarks on the new year with enthusiasm, AAB remains committed to fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth.
