SECURITY IN BANKS

The Albanian Association of Banks (AAB) and its Committee for Banking Security organized the national forum on the topic “Security in banks”. The forum held its work for the second year in a row, on May 31, 2013.

Participants in the activity were representatives of the second-level banks in Albania and Kosovo, representatives of the Bank of Albania, the General Directorate of the State Police, Physical Security Protection Companies (SHRSF), and representatives of companies that provide services and products in the field of banking security.

Ms. Endrita Xhaferaj, Secretary General of AAB, and Mr. Roland Tashi, Chairman of the Committee for Banking Security, in their welcome speech greeted the attendees and mentioned the need for increasing the level of security as well as the continuous cooperation with the state police and law enforcement institutions.

During the two sections of the forum, topics such as the latest developments in terms of physical and electronic security, the evolution of the crime of theft, analysis tools for assessing the risk of robbery, the role of the committee in increasing the level of security, the relationship of the police with security and physical security companies and the need for training, developments in security technology, private security in European Union countries, etc. The presentation of the 12-year study, 2000-2012, on bank security, which examined all the events that occurred during this period in our country, recommending the necessary improvements, was a topic of interest.

Representatives of the General Directorate of the State Police emphasized the need for inter-institutional cooperation to prevent the evolution of the crime of theft. Representatives of bank security and the general directorate of the police in Kosovo were also invited, who brought concrete cases of bank robberies and informed those present about the work done and the challenges of the security committee in the Albanian Association of Banks.

At the end of the work of this forum, the participants expressed their appreciation for the work and achievements of this year, expressing the need for improvements in the way of organization and operation of security structures in banks, risk assessment, and increasing the level of cooperation with other institutions. state, responsible for public safety.
